Bobby Krlic Scores PAPER GIRLS for Prime Video (UPDATED with Soundtrack info)
Amazon Prime’s new science fiction drama streaming television series, PAPER GIRLS, follows four young girls who, while out delivering papers on the morning after Halloween in 1988, become unwittingly caught in a conflict between warring factions of time-travelers, sending them on an adventure through time that will save the world. As they travel between our present, the past, and the future – they encounter future versions of themselves and now must choose to embrace or reject their fate.
The 8-episode series is based on the comic book series of the same name written by Brian K. Vaughan and illustrated by Cliff Chiang.
The film’s music is composed by British composer Bobby Krlic, often known by his stage name The Haxan Cloak for his music albums. Under his real name, he has composed the soundtrack for MIDSOMMAR, and the television series SNOWPIERCER, ANGEL OF DARKNESS, Hulu’s REPRISAL, and Netflix’s SEVEN SECONDS. Prior to this he co-composed, with Atticus Ross, the score to TRIPLE 9, and served as music programmer for Ross’s BLACKHAT.
PAPER GIRLS premiered today on Prime Video.
UPDATE: A digital soundtrack album of Krlic’s score has been released by Milan Records and is available on Apple Music, Amazon, and digital music other services. Spotify has a playlist of pops songs heard in the series.
