Simon Franglen will to score James Cameron’s AVATAR 2 & 3. The first two sequels to the director’s Academy Award-nominated 2009 film (which are being shot simultaneously) will premiere in December 2021 and 2023, respectively.

Franglen previously served as arranger and score producer on the original AVATAR movie, composed by James Horner. He also collaborated with Horner on numerous other projects, including Cameron’s Titanic, and completed the score to Antoine Fuqua’s THE MAGNIFICENT SEVEN, which Horner had only begun to sketch out when he died in a private plane accident in 2015. Franglen has also scored Walt Disney World’s PANDORA: THE WORLD OF AVATAR, Pierre Morrel’s PEPPERMINT and Jean-Jacques Annaud’s TV series THE TRUTH ABOUT THE HARRY QUEBERT Affair.
