UNCAGED: tomandandy return to 47 METERS DOWN – digital soundtrack coming from Varèse Sarabande
– Randall D. Larson
The sequel to 2017’s sharkterror movie 47 METERS DOWN is titled 47 METERS DOWN: UNCAGED, and opens on August 16th. Johannes Roberts returns to direct the sequel, co-writing the script with Ernest Riera, who also returns from the first movie. The story follows the diving adventure of four teenage girls exploring a submerged Mayan City. Once inside, their rush of excitement turns into a jolt of terror as they discover the sunken ruins are a hunting ground for deadly great white sharks. With their air supply steadily dwindling, the friends must navigate the underwater labyrinth of claustrophobic caves and eerie tunnels in search of a way out of their watery hell. The film stars Sophie Nélisse, Corinne Foxx, Brianne Tju, Sistine Stallone, Davi Santos, Khylin Rhambo, Brec Bassinger, and John Corbett.
The composing duo of tomandandy (THE SILENCE, RESIDENT EVIL: RETRIBUTION, THE MOTHMAN PROPHESIES), who provided a commendable score for the previous movie (see our previous posting, here), are back with another scary scuba score for the new film. Varèse Sarabande Records will release a digital soundtrack on August 16th. For details on their web site, click here.
