Tyler Bates & Joanne Higginbottom Scoring Genndy Tartakovky’s PRIMAL
PRIMAL is an upcoming American adult animated action-adventure television series that is set to premiere on Adult Swim in the Fall of 2019. The series is created by Genndy Tartakovsky, who is most famous for the creation of two critically acclaimed Cartoon Network original shows, such as DEXTER’S LABORATORY and SAMURAI JACK, the latter of which aired its final season on Adult Swim. Tartakovsky also directed the three HOTEL TRANSYLVANIA movies as well as created and directed the original STAR WARS: CLONE WARS series.
The half-hour animated series centers around a caveman at the dawn of evolution and a dinosaur on the brink of extinction. Bonded by tragedy, this unlikely friendship becomes the only hope of survival in a violent, primordial world.
The series is being scored by Tyler Bates (GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY, JOHN WICK, WATCHMEN) and Joanne Higginbottom, who has contributed programming and additional music to a number of Bates’ scores, including HOBBS & SHAW, JOHN WICK 3, TV’s THE PURGE, THE PUNISHER, and SAMURAI JACK. Bates has collaborated with Tartakovsky on the many of the director’s animated projects.
