REZNOR & ROSS Score HBO’s WATCHMEN Series
The team of Nine Inch Nails’ Trent Reznor and Atticus Ross (BIRD BOX, GONE GIRL, THE GIRL WITH THE DRAGON TATTOO, THE SOCIAL NETWORK) are scoring the forthcoming WATCHMEN superhero drama television series, based on the DC Comics limited series of the same name created by Alan Moore and Dave Gibbons.
The new series, which is set to premiere in October on HBO, was created and developed by Damon Lindelof (creator LOST, THE LEFTOVERS; writer WORLD WAR Z, STAR TREK INTO DARKNESS, CROSSING JORDAN) and takes place in an alternate contemporary reality in the United States, in which superheroes and masked vigilantes were outlawed due to their violent methods, but some of them gather around to start a revolution while others attempt to stop it.
The series is “set in an alternate history where ‘superheroes’ are treated as outlaws, this drama series embraces the nostalgia of the original groundbreaking graphic novel of the same name while attempting to break new ground of its own,” according to an official HBO synopsis quoted by NME.com; adding that Lindelof “plans to embrace the nostalgia of the original groundbreaking graphic novel” and that “the series will also attempt to break new ground of its own.” For more details see the story on NME.com.
