Trent Reznor & Atticus Ross Score Cannibalistic Lovers Drama BONES AND ALL

BONES AND ALL is a tasteful 2022 coming-of-age romantic cannibal road film directed by Luca Guadagnino from a screenplay by David Kajganich, based on the 2015 novel of the same name by Camille DeAngelis. Taylor Russell and Timothée Chalamet lead an ensemble cast that includes Mark Rylance, Michael Stuhlbarg, André Holland, Chloë Sevigny, David Gordon Green, and Jessica Harper. Russell plays Maren, a young woman who learns how to survive on the margins of society because of her predilection for human flesh. Love blossoms between her and a disenfranchised drifter as they embark on a 3,000-mile odyssey through the backroads of Reagan-era America. However, despite their best efforts, all roads lead back to their terrifying pasts and a final stand that will determine whether their love can survive their differences.

The movie is scored by Trent Reznor and Atticus Ross (WATCHMAN series, BIRD BOX, GONE GIRL, THE GIRL WITH THE DRAGON TATTOO, THE SOCIAL NETWORK).

Director Guadagnino has promised that BONES & ALL will be an “extremely romantic movie” despite the cannibal aspect while speaking with Fantastic Man. “I like to think that BONES AND ALL is an extremely romantic movie, addressing the romanticism that lies within us and within relationships in general,” Guadagnino explains. “Of course, there’s the literal aspect of it being a movie about cannibal lovers, which is extreme in many ways, but I think the more extreme aspect of the movie is the intensity of the feelings that these people go through – the impossibility of love.”

The film premiered at the 79th Venice International Film Festival, where it won Silver Lion for best direction, on September 2, 2022. It is scheduled for release on November 18, 2022 in the UA. The film received critical acclaim for its lead performances, direction, cinematography, and fusion of genres within the film.
