Koji Endo Scores THE GREAT YOKAI WAR: GUARDIANS – Soundtrack to Follow
THE GREAT YOKAI WAR: GUARDIANS is an upcoming Japanese fantasy adventure film directed by Takashi Miike. A sequel to Miike’s 2005 fantasy feature, THE GREAT YOKAI WAR, GUARDIANS is scheduled to be released in Japan on August 13, 2021 by Toho and Kadokawa Pictures. The film focuses largely on creatures from Japanese mythology known as yōkai (variously translated as “apparition”, “goblin”, “ghoul”, “spirit”, or “monster”).
Synopsis: Ancient fossils sleeping in Fossa Magna have gathered together and transformed into a giant yōkai and is heading for Tokyo.
The film has been scored by composer Koji Endo (13 ASSASSINS, MOJIN: THE LOST LEGEND, FIRST LOVE, BLADE OF THE IMMORTAL) who previously scored the original GREAT YOKAI WAR and the soundtrack album will be released digitally on August 4th (pre-orderable on Amazon).
