Lorne Balfe Scores Fantasy Epic THE WHEEL OF TIME

THE WHEEL OF TIME is a forthcoming epic fantasy television series set to premiere on Amazon Prime Video on November 19, 2021. Based on one of the most popular and enduring fantasy series of all time, Robert Jordan’s novel series of the same name, THE WHEEL OF TIME is set in a sprawling, epic world where magic exists and only certain women are allowed to access it. The  film follows Moiraine (Rosamund Pike), a member of the incredibly powerful all-female organization called the Aes Sedai, as she arrives in the small town of Two Rivers. There, she embarks on a dangerous, world-spanning journey with five young men and women, one of whom is prophesied to be the Dragon Reborn, who will either save or destroy humanity.

The series features music scored by Lorne Balfe (BLACK WIDOW, HIS DARK MATERIALS, THE TOMORROW WAR, MISSION: IMPOSSIBLE – FALLOUT). Balfe is also set to score these major films in 2022: Michael’s Bay’s AMBULANCE (Universal), Steven Caple Jr.’s TRANSFORMERS: RISE OF THE BEASTS (Paramount), Matthew Vaughn’s spy thriller ARGYLE (Apple TV+), and Christopher McQuarrie’s MISSION: IMPOSSIBLE 7 and 2023’s MISSION: IMPOSSIBLE 8 (both Paramount).

THE WHEEL OF TIME’s first season, consisting of eight episodes, will release the first three episodes simultaneously, while the remaining five shows will air on a weekly basis until December 24, 2021. In May 2021, the series was renewed for a second season, ahead of the series premiere.
