John Scott’s Score for THE FINAL COUNTDOWN Reissued by the Composer

The magnificent orchestral score by composer John Scott (GREYSTOKE, KING KONG LIVES, a study in terror, numerous COUSTEAU documentaries) has been reissued in a sparkling new CD edition on the composer’s JOS Records label. The reissue includes the 23-tracks from Scott’s previous 2002 complete soundtrack CD release (the 1980 US soundtrack LP from Casablanca Records contained only 15 tracks) and includes Scott’s original notes from that edition, with an impressive new 12-page full color booklet and cover designed by artist Jim Titus.

Kirk Douglas, Martin Sheen, Katharine Ross, James Farentino, and Charles Durning star in this science fiction/action film about the USS Nimitz aircraft carrier being hurled back in time by a freak electrical storm to the eve of the Japanese attack on Pearl Harbor. With the Nimitz’s firepower, do they allow the Japanese to complete their secret invasion or launch a massive counter-strike that will forever change the course of history?
