François de Roubaix’s cult horror score for LES LÈVRES ROUGES now on CD/Vinyl for the first time

Daughters of Darkness

Butler Records, launched in 2014, is a division of Music on CD, the record label of Bertus Distribution, and has released last Friday the first ever official soundtrack album of the Belgian cult horror classic DAUGHTERS OF DARKNESS (LES LÈVRES ROUGES).  The film, one of the many adaptations of Carmilla, is directed by Harry Kümel (MALPERTUIS, ELINE VERE), and features an exquisite score by award winning composer François de Roubaix (LE SAMOURAI, LES AVENTURIERS, LES GRANDES GUEULES (The Wise Guys). The soundtrack to Kümel’s erotic vampire film consists of a lot of different musical elements and is an alluringly seductive score. It is one of François’ finest pieces of music. The colorful compositions support the love story and the different ways the vampires interact.

Butler’s vinyl release is a limited edition 180gm red vinyl LP pressing in gatefold jacket, with 18 tracks. It includes an exclusive poster and printed inner sleeve.

To celebrate the re-discovery of this masterpiece the CD has four extra bonus tracks. There are 22 tracks total, including 17 from the film soundtrack (one is a bonus track), plus two cues not used in the film and three remixed tracks. The CD features an exclusive poster and liner notes, in English and French, by de Roubaix’s son, Benjamin de Roubaix.

Order the CD or vinyl from Amazon.
