Paul Zaza’s Score to 1987’s PROM NIGHT II Coming from Kaatu Records
Klaatu Records is proud to announce the world premiere release for Paul Zaza’s original, unedited score for the film PROM NIGHT II (aka HELLO MARY LOU: PROM NIGHT II) – available for the first time on any format.
PROM NIGHT II is the first (of three) sequels to 1980’s PROM NIGHT, which was about a masked killer who stalks the four teenagers who were responsible for the accidental death of a classmate a high school senior prom six years previously. The sequels had little in common with the 1980 film, aside from all being set at Hamilton High School. PROM NIGHT II tells a new story unrelated to that of its predecessor: thirty years after prom queen Mary Lou Maloney’s accidental death at her 1957 senior prom, her tortured spirit returns to seek revenge. In 1990’s PROM NIGHT III: THE LAST KISS, the malevolent spirit of Mary Lou Maloney returns to Hamilton High, where she manipulates a naive male student into helping her wreak havoc on the school. 1992’s PROM NIGHT IV: DELIVER US FROM EVIL told a new story about a group of teenagers tormented by a possessed Catholic priest on their prom night.
