Disney Unveils Score Soundtracks from Comedies ZOMBIES and ZOMBIES 2

Walt Disney Records has released a score album from its hit Disney Channel franchise; Music from ZOMBIES (Original Score), composed by George S. Clinton (AUSTIN POWERS franchise, HAROLD & KUMAR ESCAPE FROM GUANTANAMO BAY, THE SANTA CLAUS) and Amit May Cohen (THE COUNTRY CLUB).

This release marks the first time original score albums have been released from Disney Channel franchises. Steven Vincent, Vice President of Music and Soundtracks for the Disney Channel said, “The score is integral to a movie’s success because it elevates the heart, comedy, and overall spirit of the story. We’re thrilled to be showcasing the work of these immensely talented composers with the special soundtrack release and helping kids and families appreciate the art form even more.”

ZOMBIES premiered in February 2018 and was a huge success with over 12.8 million viewers of its first 10 telecasts. The movie’s song soundtrack debuted at #1 on the Billboard Top Children’s chart, #4 on the Billboard Top Soundtrack chart, #2 on the iTunes Soundtrack chart and #3 on the iTunes album chart. ZOMBIES 2 debuted in February 2020 and was the #1 cable telecast of 2020 to-date (excluding sports/news programming) with nearly 5 million Total Viewers. Its 10-song soundtrack reached #1 on iTunes Soundtrack chart and the song “Someday” performed by Milo Manheim and Meg Donnelly is certified gold.

On creating the score for ZOMBIES, composers George S. Clinton and Amit May Cohn said, “One of the main reasons we loved working on the Zombies movies for Disney Channel is that the filmmakers approached it like a feature film and did not condescend. It’s a fun and very creative process; scoring the Zombies movies for Disney Channel was a blast!”

Simultaneously with the ZOMBIES score album, Disney Music has also released Music from DESCENDANTS (Original Score) composed by Emmy® nominated composer David Lawrence (HIGH SCHOOL MUSICAL franchise). Both digital albums are available today.
