Kenneth Lampl Scores Horror Film SISSY – CD released by MovieScore Media

Sweden’s MovieScore Media has released the original score from the 2022 horror feature film SISSY, directed by Hannah Barlow and Kane Senes, and starring Aisha Dee, Yerin Ha and Hannah Barlow, produced by Arcadia, DEMS Entertainment and Dog Park Pictures, released by XYZ Films and Shudder (USA). The film follows teenage best friends Cecilia and Emma who, after a decade, run into each other. Cecilia is invited on Emma’s bachelorette weekend where she gets stuck in a remote cabin with her high school bully with a taste for revenge.

The film has been scored by American film composer Kenneth Lampl, who has scored over 90 films during his career thus far. Lampl’s first film score SIX MILES OF EIGHT FEET premiered at the Sundance Film Festival 2000 and won a Student Academy Award as well as Best Original Score from the NYU First Run Film Festival. His other credits include the 2020 science fiction drama, 2067 (co-composing with Kirsten Axelholm), FRONTERA (Ed Harris and Eva Longoria), 35 and TICKING (Kevin Hart), WINTER OF FROZEN DREAMS (Thora Birch and Keith Carradine) and ROYAL KILL (Pat Morita and Eric Roberts), as well as the television series BORN AGAIN VIRGIN and SAINTS & SINNERS.

“The SISSY score is best described as a psychotic rollercoaster, veering its way from sinister Italian Giallo and tense Herrmann-esque thriller to over-exuberant, saccharine-coated, Disney magic,” Lampl said. “The music is intended to capture the unreal, inner fantasy land of social media and its impact on the slowly unraveling mind of our main character Sissy. Best to keep your belt fastened until the ride comes to a complete stop.”
