La-La Land Records’s Black Friday 2019 Releases Include STAR TREK VOYAGER, STARGATE movie scores

La-La Land Records has made their eagerly-awaited announcement of its five new end-of-the-year soundtrack releases for December: The exciting genre-related offerings include STAR TREK VOYAGER Collection – Vol. 2, a limited edition four-CD second presentation of exciting score highlights from the acclaimed television series. Composers Jay Chattaway, Dennis McCarthy, David Bell, and Paul Baillargeon continue to musically mine all the drama, heart, action, and wonder of the STAR TREK universe, creating memorable scores to such notable episodes as “Sacred Ground,” “Future’s End I&II,” “Renaissance Man,” “Latent Image,” “Q2,” “The Killing Game I&II,” “Endgame I&II” and more. CD 1 features music by Chattaway, CD2 showcases McCarthy, CD3 highlights music by Bell & Baillargeon, and CD4 includes the series finale, source cues and more. Produced by Ford A. Thaxton, James Nelson, Mark Banning, and Lukas Kendall, and edited and mastered by James Nelson, this special limited edition release of 3000 units includes a 40-Page booklet with exclusive, in-depth liner notes by writer Randall D. Larson. Art design is by Mark Banning.

Also in the December roster is STARGATE: 25th Anniversary Expanded Limited Edition, a 2-CD remastered, deluxe presentation of composer David Arnold’s original motion picture score to the 1994 landmark sci-fi feature film. Produced by the composer and Neil S. Bulk, and mastered by Doug Schwartz, this stellar-sounding release is expanded across a 2-CD assembly, showcasing the score presentation and additional music tracks for a running time of 109 minutes. The exclusive, in-depth liner notes are by writer Tim Greiving and the sharp art design is by Dan Goldwasser. This is a limited CD edition of 3000 units.

In other genres, La-La Land has also announced are: 35th Anniversary: Limited Edition of Bill Conti’s previously out of print score to THE KARATE KID, with all-new packaging featuring a cover illustration by artist Paul Shipper and new, exclusive liner notes by Al Kaplan, include new interview comments from composer Conti, along with an introductory message from star Macchio; NEVADA SMITH – The Paramount Westerns Collection, a 4-CD collection of original film score recordings from eleven of Paramount Pictures’ big-screen westerns from the ‘50s and ‘60s, featuring music by Alfred Newman, Nelson Riddle, Walter Scharf, Johnny Douglas, Paul Dunlap, David Raskin, Harry Sukman, Roy Webb, Franz Waxman, Daniele Amfitheatrof, and Victor Young. The collection is limited to 1000 units, and features a 36-page booklet with exclusive, in-depth liner notes written by the producers. Dan Goldwasser’s art design corals the packaging together in classic fashion.

And, if that isn’t all, the label offers the Disaster Movie Soundtrack Collection – Music By John Williams a limited edition four disc box set containing the remastered and expanded original motion picture scores to the feature films THE POSEIDON ADVENTURE (1972) and THE TOWERING INFERNO (1974), and EARTHQUAKE (1974).
