BUMBLEBEE trailer screen grab

BUMBLEE official poster.jpgThe film, a spinoff of Michael Bay’s TRANSFOMERS film series, is directed by Travis Knight (KUBO AND THE TWO STRINGS, formerly lead animator on CORALINE, PARANORMAN, THE BOXTROLLS, etc.) from a script by Christina Hodson (UNFORGETTABLE, SHUT-IN). The film takes place in 1987, where the alien Autobot Bumblebee takes refuge in a coastal California community’s junkyard. He is found by 17-going-on-18-year-old girl named Charlie (Hailee Steinfield), who revives him – but members of a government agency known as Sector 7, led by an Agent Burns, are quickly on their tail. As they run from society, the two learn that Bee isn’t the only Transformer on Earth, and that a war between Bee’s compatriots and a group of adversarial Transformers is resuming on Earth.

Composer Dario Marianelli (DARKEST HOUR, ATONEMENT, THE BOXTROLLS, V FOR VENDETTA) is scoring the film. The music heard throughout the trailer is by composer Bryan Nguyen (Ghostwriter Music).
