Ben Frost Scoring 1899 Sci-Fi/Horror Series for Netflix

1899 is an upcoming German epic period mystery-horror 8-episode streaming television series created by Jantje Friese and Baran bo Odar. Starring Emily Beecham, Aneurin Barnard, Andreas Pietschmann, and Miguel Bernardeau, 1899 is set to premiere on Netflix in late 2022.

The series follows a group of European migrants who leave London on a steamship to start new lives in New York City. But when they encounter another migrant ship adrift on the open sea, their journey begins to turn into a nightmare; a visually stunning Odyssee where nothing is as it seems. The makers of the internationally acclaimed series DARK, take us to the year 1899 aboard the Kerberos. What is lost will be found.

The series is being scored by composer Ben Frost, an Australian born musician who relocated to Reykjavík Iceland in 2005, where work together with close friends Valgeir Sigurðsson and Nico Muhly, forming the Bedroom Community record label/collective which produced several albums that merged shape-shifting physical power with immersive melody and concentrated minimalism with fierce, rupturing metal. In film and television, Frost is known for scoring (RAISED BY WOLVES, DARK, FORTITUDE, FROST, IN HER SKIN, and the Palme dOr nominated SLEEPING BEAUTY)
