Anna Drubich Scores Lycanthropic Horror-Comedy WEREWOLVES WITHIN

The forthcoming horror comedy film WEREWOLVES WITHIN, directed by Josh Ruben from a screenplay by Mishna Wolff, is based upon the video game of the same name from Red Storm Entertainment. The film takes place in a small town of Beaverfield, where a proposed gas pipeline has created divisions among the townsfolk. When a snowstorm traps its residents together inside the local inn, newly arrived forest ranger Finn (Sam Richardson) and postal worker Cecily (Milana Vayntrub) must try to keep the peace and uncover the truth behind a mysterious creature that has begun terrorizing the community.

Composer Anna Drubich has provided the film’s score. Born in Moscow, Drubich was exposed to music from an early age Anna. She began piano lessons at the age of 8, and in 2008 she earned her Bachelor and Master’s degrees at the Munich School for the Performing Arts under the tutelage of Professor Franz Massinger. Anna has been very busy as a prize-winning solo and chamber music performer, giving concerts throughout Europe. In addition to her piano endeavors, Anna has been writing music, focusing on film composition. Since around 2014, Drubich has frequently collaborated with film composer Marco Beltrami, writing an episode of the Danish television historical war drama series 1864 (2014), composing additional music and playing piano on EXTREMELY WICKED, SHOCKINGLY EVIL AND VILE (2019), and co-writing the scores for SCARY STORIES IN THE DARK (2019) and FEAR STREET (2021). In Russia she composed the music or MASHKINY STRASHILKI (2014, Masha’s Spooky Stories, shown in the US on Netflix in 2016), the romantic comedy ODESSA (2019), and the Russian Cold War drama series THE OPTIMISTS: A CUBAN AFFAIR (2021).

WEREWOLVES WITHIN will have its world premiere at the Tribeca Film Festival in June 2021. It is scheduled to be released in a limited release on June 25, 2021, followed by video on demand on July 2, 2021, by IFC Films.
