Season 2 of THE TERROR Premieres Tonight – Score by Mark Korven (THE WITCH)
Debuting on AMC tonight, the second season of THE TERROR, titled THE TERROR INFAMY, takes place on the west coast of the United States during World War II and has to do with an uncanny specter that menaces a Japanese-American community from its home in Southern California to the internment camps to the war in the Pacific.
Executive-produced by Ridley Scott, the series award-winning first season [Satellite award: best TV series, genre) debuted in 2017 with its adaptation of Dean Simmons’ gripping historical Antarctic horror novel The Terror. Series 2 was developed by Max Borenstein (writer, GODZILLA, KONG: SKULL ISLAND, GODZILLA KIND OF THE MONSTERS) and Alexander Woo (writer, TRUE BLOOD), with Woo serving as showrunner.
Derek Mio plays the lead role of Chester Nakayama, a son of Japanese born immigrants who joins the army, and whose journey to understand and combat the malevolent entity is central to the storyline. George Takei co-stars as a former fishing captain and community elder who was imprisoned with his family in the internment camps during WWII; Takei, who was actually confined to such a camp during WWII, also serves in a consulting role to ensure the accuracy of historical events and storytelling. Kiki Sukezane plays Yuko Tanabe, a mysterious woman from Chester’s past (pictured on the poster at right).
Season 2 is composed by Mark Korven (THE WITCH, AWAKENING THE ZODIAC, IN THE TALL GRASS); the series’ first season was scored by Swedish composer and audiovisual artist Marcus Fjellström, who sadly died in 2017.
