BLACK PANTHER’s Ludwig Göransson Scores Disney’s MANDALORIAN TV series

Disney released their official trailer this week for MANDALORIAN, their live-action STAR WARS spin-off TV series. The series will take place five years after the events of RETURN OF THE JEDI, after the fall of the Empire and before the emergence of the First Order, and follows the travails of a lone gunfighter in the outer reaches of the galaxy, far from the authority of the New Republic.

Disney has scheduled eight episodes in the show’s first season; Jon Favreau (dir. IRON MAN, IRON MAN 2; exec prod/actor: AVENGERS series, THE JUNGLE BOOK) serves as creator, head writer, showrunner, and co-executive producer. The show will star Pedro Pascal, Gina Carano, Nick Nolte, Giancarlo Esposito, Emily Swallow, Carl Weathers, Omid Abtahi, and Werner Herzog.

Ludwig Göransson (VENOM, CREED, Oscar winner for BLACK PANTHER score) was signed last December to score the series, and we’re looking forward to his take on this show set in the STAR WARS universe.

The series is scheduled to premiere on Disney+ when the new streaming service debuts on November 12, 2019.
