Dynamic Music Partners Score Two New DC SHOWCASE Animated Shorts

SgtRock_900_5cd1d7e1c01341.02983709The “DC Showcase” series of animated shorts first debuted back in 2010 as bonus content for the DC Universe movies before seemingly being retired in 2011. However, rumors of its death were greatly exaggerated, it seems, as it’s returning this year with five brand new shorts: Sgt. Rock, Adam Strange, Death (inspired by Neil Gaiman’s The Sandman), The Phantom Stranger, and BATMAN: DEATH IN THE FAMILY. Produced by Warner Bros. Animation and Warner Bros. Home Entertainment, in partnership with DC, the new shorts will be included on upcoming DC Universe Movies releases, with exception of the BATMAN: DEATH IN THE FAMILY short, which will be longer and anchor a compilation set for distribution in late 2020.

Dynamic Music Partners – Kristopher Carter, Lolita Ritmanis, and Michael McCuistion, the outstanding purveyors of music for multiple animated super hero universes, which most recently have included JUSTICE LEAGUE VS THE FATAL FIVE, the MARVEL RISING and AVENGERS ASSEMBLE TV series, BATMAN VS. TWO-FACE, and BATMAN AND HARLEY QUINN – have composed the music for Bruce Timm’s SGT ROCK, the first of the five new DC Showcase films, and are scheduled to score THE PHANTOM STRANGER as well. “They’re both really well-done and we’re having a great time collaborating with Bruce Timm!” the trio told Musique Fantastique.
