Rob Simonsen Scores SF Thriller CAPTIVE STATE

Captive State poster red smokeThe new post-invasion science fiction film CAPTIVE STATE, which premieres next Friday via Focus features, is set in a Chicago neighborhood nearly a decade after an occupation by an extra-terrestrial force. The film explores the lives on both sides of the conflict – both the collaborators and dissidents. Starring Vera Farmiga, Machine Gun Kelly, KiKi Layne, John Goodman, Madleine Brewer and D. B. Sweeney, CAPTIVE STATE is directed by English filmmaker Rupert Wyatt (RISE OF THE PLANET OF THE APES, THE ESCAPIST, THE GAMBLER).

The film’s musical score has been composed by Rob Simonsen (THE UPSIDE, THE CLEANSE, THE SPECTACULAR NOW, STONEWALL, TV’s DOLLHOUSE). A CD soundtrack is reported to be coming from Sony on March 29.
